BPSC TRE 4.0 Notification: There's great news for young people dreaming of becoming teachers in Bihar. The notification for the BPSC TRE 4.0 teacher recruitment examination, conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), is expected to be released soon. Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar has stated that the TRE 4.0 advertisement will be released by January 26th. He shared this information while speaking to reporters at an event in Bhore, Gopalganj district.

Over 27,000 Teachers to be Recruited in TRE 4
The Education Minister informed that under TRE 4, more than 27,000 teachers will be appointed at the primary, middle school, and plus two levels. The Education Department is currently seeking updates on vacant positions from all districts. As soon as the roster is prepared, the formal recruitment process will begin. The department and BPSC are working in close coordination to ensure the entire process is completed on time. The government aims to address the shortage of teachers in schools and improve the quality of education through this recruitment drive.

23 Districts Yet to Submit Teacher Vacancy Data
However, a major hurdle has emerged in the teacher recruitment process. Out of the 38 districts in the state, only 15 have submitted information on vacant teacher positions. The remaining 23 districts have not yet provided the vacancy details. The districts that have submitted the data so far include Rohtas, Bhojpur, Aurangabad, West Champaran, Shivhar, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, Banka, and Gaya, among others. This data will be sent to the BPSC only after receiving the information from all districts and clearing the roster, after which the exam date will be finalized.

Over One Lakh Teacher Vacancies Expected
Information on vacant teacher positions from classes 1 to 12 is being sought from approximately 78,000 schools across the state. The Education Department has repeatedly instructed the districts to send the vacancy details through letters and video conferencing. Despite this, several districts have not yet provided the data. Officials estimate that approximately one lakh teacher positions are likely to be vacant this time, and appointments will be made in two phases.

Domicile Policy to be Implemented for the First Time
The domicile policy will be implemented for the first time in TRE 4. Under this policy, about 85 percent of the seats will be reserved for youth from Bihar. Only 15 percent of the seats will be open to candidates from other states or those who have completed their matriculation and intermediate studies outside Bihar. In addition, 50% reservation in teacher recruitment for classes up to 5th grade and 35% reservation in other categories will be available only to female candidates from Bihar. This will provide a great opportunity for the daughters of Bihar to become teachers.

More than 2.5 Lakh Teachers Already Recruited
In the last two years, 2,68,548 teachers have been appointed in three phases on the recommendation of the BPSC.
First phase: 1,02,871 teachers
Second phase: 69,500 teachers
A large-scale recruitment also took place in the third phase.
Now, preparations are underway to fill the remaining vacant positions through TRE 4 and the upcoming TRE 5.

Several Deadlines Have Already Been Missed
Earlier, on September 21, the then Education Minister had said that the details of the vacancies would be sent to the BPSC by the end of September and the TRE 4 examination would be conducted by December. Later, it was also stated that TRE 5 would be held in 2026. However, the STET (Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test) has not yet been fully completed, which is causing delays in the entire process.
