Bihar Police Recruitment Update: There's significant good news for young people preparing for government jobs in the Bihar Police. Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, Samrat Chaudhary, has announced that more than 60,000 positions will be filled in the coming months. These appointments will be made in the Home Department. Consequently, these positions offer significant opportunities for young people preparing for the police force.

The Deputy Chief Minister made this announcement during the Home Department's budget discussion in the state assembly. He also announced the formation of a Police Didi (Police Didi) in the state to provide security to all schools and colleges. Of the 60,000 recruitments, 31,000 positions will be filled by constables. The state government will also recruit 17,000 CRPF personnel through the Paramilitary Force and fill 13,500 positions in the Bihar Industrial Security Force. This brings the total number of government jobs in the Home Department to more than 60,000.

The target is to complete the recruitment process for all these posts by March 2027. Along with these recruitments, the Deputy Chief Minister announced that, like the Central Industrial Security Force, the Bihar Industrial Security Force and a women's security force (Police Didi) will be formed.

What recruitment is currently open in the Bihar Police?
The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has invited applications for the Assistant Sub-Inspector vacancy. You can fill out this recruitment form now if you wish. This recruitment for Assistant Sub-Inspector (Operations) is open for 462 posts. Applications are open from February 4th. The application window will remain open until March 4th, 2026. To apply for this Bihar Police Assistant Sub-Inspector recruitment, candidates must have completed a Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) with Physics as a subject from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates from the SC/ST category, with up to 45 percent marks, can also apply.

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and a maximum of 37 years of age, along with the educational qualification requirements. Women between the ages of 21 and 40 are also eligible to apply. Male candidates from unreserved and backward classes must have a height of 165 cm, while OBC, SC, and ST candidates must have a height of 160 cm. The minimum height for women is 155 cm.
