The recruitment process for over 25,000 posts, which were pending due to the Bihar Assembly elections, has now been expedited. The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission and the Central Selection Board (CSBC) issued a notification for recruitment in March 2025. Over 1.6 million candidates registered for police constable positions. A six-phase written examination was also conducted between July and August for recruitment to these positions.
PET and PST for Constable Recruitment
The written examination for Bihar Police Constable positions was conducted in July and August. Over 1.673 million candidates registered for the Bihar Police Constable written examination. Furthermore, based on the written examination, a total of 99,690 candidates have been shortlisted for the PET and PST examinations. According to the CSBC, the PET and PST examinations will be conducted in December.
Written Examination for Jail Warder, Alcohol Prohibition, and Constable
The application process for recruitment to these positions began on October 6th. Candidates will soon be notified of the written examination for these positions. Candidates who pass the written examination will also be invited for a physical test soon.
Procedure for SI Recruitment
The BPSC will soon release the exam schedule for SI recruitment. A preliminary examination and a main examination will be conducted for SI positions.
In addition, the examination for recruitment to 33 Enforcement Sub-Inspector positions will be held in two shifts on December 14th. The examination for recruitment to 25 Assistant Jail Superintendent positions will be held on December 7th, 2025. Interviews for recruitment to 24 Range Forest Officer positions will be held between November 19th and 21st.
