Bihar Police SI Recruitment 2025: The Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) has released a notification for 1,799 Police Sub-Inspector posts. Interested candidates can apply online for these posts from September 26, 2025, to October 26, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for Application
Candidates must be Indian citizens and possess a minimum educational qualification of a bachelor's degree from a recognized university. This qualification must be completed by August 1, 2025.

The age limit for unreserved categories is generally between 20 and 37 years. However, age relaxation is available to candidates from reserved categories as per government regulations. Candidates who meet these criteria can apply online.

Preliminary and Main Exam Pattern
All candidates who submit valid applications will be required to appear for a written examination. This examination will be conducted in two parts: a preliminary and a main examination. The preliminary examination will carry 200 marks, consist of 100 questions, and will be of two hours duration. It will include questions on general knowledge and current affairs. Candidates who score less than 30% will not be eligible for the main examination. From among the successful candidates, 20 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the main examination.

Main Examination: The main examination will consist of two papers. The first paper will be General Hindi, with a minimum of 30% marks required. The second paper will cover General Studies, Science, History, Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability. A wrong answer in each paper will result in a 0.2 mark deduction. Based on the main examination, 6 times the number of vacancies will be selected for the physical examination. Passing the physical examination is the only requirement.

Physical Efficiency Test
The physical examination is conducted in two parts. The first is the Physical Standard Test (PST), which measures the candidate's height, chest (expanded and unexpanded), and weight. The minimum height for male candidates is 165 cm, and the chest girth is 81-86 cm, while the minimum height for female candidates is 155 cm, and the chest girth criterion is not applicable.

The second part is the Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which tests physical endurance and skill through running, jumping, and shot put. Men must complete a 1.6 km run, a 4 ft high jump, a 12 ft long jump, a 16-pound shot put, and a 16 ft ball throw in 6 minutes 30 seconds. For women, the standard is set to 1 km run, a 3 ft high jump, a 9 ft long jump, a 12 pound shot put, and a 10 ft ball throw in 6 minutes.
