To further strengthen law and order in Bihar, the Bihar Police Headquarters has decided to initiate a major recruitment drive. Appointments for 15,821 posts of Special Auxiliary Police (SAP) will be made on a contractual basis across the state. A key highlight of this recruitment is that, for the first time, retired personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will also be given the opportunity to apply. Previously, only ex-servicemen were eligible to participate in this recruitment process.

The recruitment process will be conducted through division-wise rallies. Selected personnel will receive a handsome honorarium, various allowances, and the opportunity to serve in different departments. The Police Headquarters has released a detailed schedule and set of guidelines regarding this recruitment.

**Recruitment Rally to Begin on June 1**
The Bihar Police Headquarters has entrusted the responsibility for this recruitment process to the Army Employment Welfare Organization, located at Danapur Cantonment. The recruitment rally will be held from June 1 to June 6, 2026. The rally will take place daily from 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

On June 1, candidates from the Purnia, Bhagalpur, and Darbhanga divisions will participate. On June 2, candidates from the Kosi, Munger, and Saran divisions will undergo recruitment. The process will be conducted for the Tirhut division on June 3, the Magadh division on June 4, and for the districts falling under the Patna division on June 5 and 6.

**Opportunity for Those Who Missed the Rally**
If a candidate is unable to attend the recruitment rally on their scheduled date, they will be allowed to participate in walk-in interviews conducted during the first week of every month.

**Eligibility Criteria for Application**
To participate in this recruitment drive, it is mandatory for a candidate to be a permanent resident of Bihar. Candidates must produce a domicile certificate issued by a Circle Officer (Anchal Adhikari) as proof of residence. Additionally, candidates must possess experience in handling modern and automatic weaponry. The state government's reservation policies will be strictly adhered to during the recruitment process.

**Recruitment Without Physical Examination**
A distinctive feature of this recruitment is that candidates will not be required to undergo a physical fitness test. However, a medical examination remains mandatory. Priority will be accorded to personnel possessing experience in disaster management, bomb disposal operations, driving, swimming, diving, and motorboat operation.

**Remuneration Details**
The recruitment drive will involve the appointment of 148 JCOs, 15,135 SAP personnel, and 538 cooks. JCOs will receive a monthly honorarium of ₹35,000; SAP personnel, ₹30,000; and cooks, ₹25,000.
