Bihar NHM Jobs: There is good news for those aspiring to become government doctors in Bihar. The State Health Society Bihar (SHSB), under the National Health Mission (NHM), has announced the recruitment of 450 specialist doctors. Notably, the recruitment process involves neither a written exam nor an interview; candidates will be selected solely based on an academic merit list. The deadline to apply for these specialist doctor positions is August 21. The application process began on August 7. According to the notification, the cut-off date for eligibility is August 1, 2026.

Anaesthetist – 132
Paediatrician – 115
Gynaecologist – 94
MD Medicine/Physician – 60
General Surgeon – 27
Orthopaedic – 22
Educational Qualification and Age Limit:
To be recruited as a specialist doctor, candidates must hold an MBBS degree along with an MD, MS, DNB, or a diploma. Additionally, registration with the Bihar Medical Council or the National Medical Council is mandatory.
Regarding the age limit, the minimum age is 21 years. The maximum age limit is 37 years for General and EWS category candidates, and 40 years for women belonging to Backward Classes, Extremely Backward Classes, and the Unreserved category. For SC/ST category candidates, the maximum age limit is 42 years.
Salary and Selection Process:
Upon recruitment as a specialist doctor, the monthly salary will range from ₹90,000 to ₹1,20,000. Selection will be based on merit. The merit list will be calculated out of 100 marks, with weightage assigned as follows: 60 marks for MBBS marks, 40 marks for a PG degree, and 30 marks for a diploma. This will be followed by document verification.
