The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 379 Sports Trainer posts, with special reservations for women.

The Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) has presented a major employment opportunity for the youth of the state. Following the CGL-4 and Office Attendant recruitments, the Commission has now issued a notification for the recruitment of 379 Sports Trainer posts. This recruitment process also provides special opportunities for female candidates.

The application process for these posts will begin on October 9, 2025, and will continue until November 11, 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online by visiting the BSSC's official website, bssc.bihar.gov.in.

Of the total 379 posts, 128 are reserved exclusively for women. The remaining positions are divided into categories, including unreserved, SC, ST, MBC, BC, women from backward classes, and EBC. This recruitment provides opportunities to all categories and aims to promote talented youth in sports.

Who Can Apply?

Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline. They must also possess a technical qualification related to sports. Technical qualifications include a Diploma in Sports Coaching from the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports, a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Coaching from the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education or the Central Sports University, or an equivalent degree from a recognized sports university.

Sports achievements are also given a significant place in this recruitment process. Candidates must have represented India in an international competition, or represented their state in a national or international championship. Additionally, participation in recognized competitions such as the Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, World Championships, or Asian Championships is also considered a qualification. Additionally, consistent participation in All India Inter-University Championships, National Championships, Junior Championships, or inter-competition events such as the Police and Railway Championships will also be given weightage.

Age Limit

Regarding the age limit, candidates in the General Category must be between 21 and 37 years of age. The maximum age limit for male and female candidates in the BC and EBC categories is 40 years. The maximum age limit for unreserved women is also 40 years, while for male and female candidates in the SC and ST categories, the limit is 42 years.

Selection Process

The selection process will be based on a written examination and interview. Candidates will first undergo a written examination, and then successful candidates will be called for an interview. A merit list will be prepared based on their qualifications, experience, and athletic achievements. Final appointments will be made based on this list.
