Bihar Government Initiative for Teachers: 100 Professors to be Sent to Oxford for Training

One hundred newly appointed assistant professors from Bihar will be sent to Oxford University and other global institutions for training. The objective of this training is to familiarize teachers with modern techniques.

The Bihar government has launched a major initiative regarding teacher training to enhance the quality of higher education. Preparations are underway to send 100 newly appointed assistant professors from the state to Oxford University and other prestigious global institutions for specialized training. The aim is to acquaint teachers with modern teaching methodologies and strengthen their professional capabilities, ensuring that college students derive direct benefits from this. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced this initiative during an orientation program in Patna for 2,451 newly appointed assistant professors. These teachers have been posted to 211 degree colleges recently established across the state.

Training at Major Global Institutions, Including Oxford

The state government will soon select 100 professors from the pool of 2,451 teachers. The selected teachers will undergo training at the University of Oxford in England as well as other prominent global institutions. During this period, they will gain insights into modern teaching methods and new approaches in higher education. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to interact and share experiences with academicians from international institutions.

211 Degree Colleges Launched in a Single Day

At the event, the Deputy Chief Minister hailed the launch of 211 new degree colleges as a significant achievement for Bihar's higher education system. He noted that Bihar became the first state in the country to launch 211 degree colleges in a single day; these colleges were inaugurated on July 15. Addressing the 2,451 assistant professors appointed to these new institutions, he emphasized that merely increasing the number of colleges would not fulfill the true objective of higher education. He stressed that regular student attendance, quality instruction, and the effective utilization of available institutions are also essential.

Emphasis on 75% Student Attendance

Samrat Chaudhary asked newly appointed teachers to pay special attention to the students' studies. He urged all teachers to ensure that students attend classes regularly and maintain an attendance rate of at least 75 percent. He stated that the true objective of establishing new colleges could only be realized through better communication between students and teachers and active classroom participation.

21% Share in the Education Budget

The Chief Minister stated that the Bihar government is prioritizing education, with approximately 21 percent of the state's total budget being allocated to the education sector. The government's goal is not merely to open new institutions but to create an educational system that provides students with better opportunities and modern resources. He also called upon the newly appointed teachers to perform their duties with utmost dedication and a sense of responsibility.
