The Ministry of Railways has made several major reforms to make the railway recruitment process transparent and technology-based. Now with one-time registration, application in every recruitment will be easy, and zero cheating will be ensured in the exam.

The Ministry of Railways has given a big relief to crores of job seekers in the country. Now, complete transparency and technology will be used in the recruitment process of the railways. This will not only benefit the candidates, but the entire recruitment process will also become fast and fair. The purpose of the new changes is to bring transparency in the examination, stop cheating and give jobs to eligible candidates on time.

Now there will be no hassle of filling the form every time. Railways has implemented the "One Time Registration" i.e. OTR system. By registering once, candidates will be able to easily apply in all the upcoming recruitments. This is especially a relief news for those lakhs of youth who used to get tired of applying a new application for every recruitment.

Aadhaar and Face Recognition

Railways will now use e-KYC and real-time face recognition technology to prevent any kind of malpractice in the examination. This means that at the time of examination, the identity will be confirmed with the Aadhar card and by matching the face it will be ensured that the same candidate is giving the exam who has filled the form.

Now the exam calendar will be available in advance every year

The Ministry of Railways has now implemented the system of issuing annual exam calendar for all Group C posts (like ALP, NTPC, Technician, RPF, Level-1 etc.). With this, the youth will know in advance when which recruitment will come out, when the applications will start and when the exam will be held.

More than 1.5 crore applications, now the process will speed up

Railways informed that in 2024, recruitments were made for a total of more than 1,08,000 posts. In these, crores of applications came for some major posts like NTPC, ALP, Technician and RPF. Despite such a large number of applications, the Railways has made the recruitment process faster than ever before. Now the average time from the release of the recruitment notification to the conduct of the examination has come down to 8 months, which will be further reduced in the future.

Exam center near home, complete security with mobile jammer

Keeping in mind the convenience of the candidates, the Railways has decided that now the examination center will be within 250 km from the candidate's home and the maximum distance has been kept at 500 km. Not only this, 100% mobile jammers have been installed at all the centers so that there is no technical fraud. Its effect was seen in the June 2025 examination, where there was no news of any kind of cheating.

Improvement in internal promotion and waiting list too

Now there will be CBAT and tablet based examination for internal promotion of Railways, due to which eligible employees will get promotion soon. Youth having 10th, ITI or National Apprenticeship Certificate will be considered eligible for Level-1 posts. Those candidates who do not join after appointment will be immediately replaced by another candidate from the waiting list. The railways have also clarified that there is no complete ban on religious symbols like bangles, bindi, turban or others in the exam. But permission to sit for the exam wearing these will be given only after security check.
