Bank of Maharashtra has announced recruitment for a large number of positions. Candidates can apply through the official website. Let's look at the complete details.

Bank of Maharashtra has announced a major recruitment drive for Apprentice positions. The bank issued the official notification for this recruitment on January 15, 2026.  A total of 600 apprentices will be appointed across various branches nationwide. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online from January 15, 2026, on the bank's official website. The last date to apply is January 25, 2026, so candidates are advised to fill out the form in time.

This initiative by the bank is considered a golden opportunity for young people to learn and gain experience in the banking sector. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to understand the bank's operations closely and gain practical knowledge. Importantly, this recruitment drive is for candidates across different states and Union Territories of the country.

Regarding state-wise vacancies, the highest number of positions are for Maharashtra. Maharashtra alone will have 261 apprentice positions. Besides this, there are 45 positions in Madhya Pradesh, 34 in Uttar Pradesh, 25 in Gujarat, 21 each in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, 17 in Telangana, and 15 each in states like Bihar, Punjab, and Rajasthan. One position each has also been allocated for smaller states and Union Territories like Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Tripura, Puducherry, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. Overall, this recruitment drive has been designed keeping in mind the youth of the entire country.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Candidates must possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India. Additionally, knowledge of the local language of the state or Union Territory for which the candidate is applying is mandatory. This language proficiency must be proven through the 10th or 12th-grade mark sheet. Age Limit

Regarding the age limit, candidates must be at least 20 years old and a maximum of 28 years old as of November 30, 2025.  According to government rules, age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, and other reserved categories. Candidates are advised to carefully read the official notification for accurate age calculation and rules.

Application Fee

The application fee is also determined according to the category. Candidates belonging to the General, EWS, and OBC categories will have to pay a fee of Rs. 150, including GST. For SC and ST candidates, the fee is Rs. 100.  Candidates with disabilities are completely exempted from the application fee, encouraging maximum participation in this recruitment.

Selection Process

After the selection process is complete, candidates selected as apprentices will undergo one year of training. This training will be conducted according to the Apprentices Act, 1961, and the rules of Bank of Maharashtra. During this period, candidates will be taught various banking-related tasks to prepare them for future employment.

Stipend

During the training period, candidates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 12,300. This amount will remain constant for the entire year. However, the bank has clarified that apprentices will not be provided with any other allowances or additional benefits during this period. The training hours will generally be from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but this may be subject to change depending on the bank's requirements.
