There is good news for ITI-qualified youth aspiring to undergo an apprenticeship at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). BHEL's Tiruchirappalli unit has invited applications for 380 apprenticeship positions. Notably, candidates will not be required to take a written exam or an interview for this recruitment; selection will be based on a merit list prepared using marks obtained in ITI and academic qualifications. Selected candidates will undergo one year of training and receive a monthly stipend ranging from ₹10,560 to ₹11,040, depending on the trade. Interested candidates can apply until September 12, 2026.

**380 Seats Across 9 Trades**
This BHEL recruitment drive covers a total of 9 trades. The vacancies include 125 posts for Fitter, 115 for Welder, 30 for Electrician, 20 for Turner, and 20 for Machinist. Candidates selected for the Fitter, Electrician, Turner, Machinist, Instrument Mechanic, Motor Mechanic, and Mechanic R&AC trades will receive a monthly stipend of ₹11,040. Meanwhile, the stipend for Welder and COPA trades is set at ₹10,560 per month.

**Who Can Apply?**
To apply, candidates must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board. Additionally, they must have completed a regular, full-time ITI course in the relevant trade from NCVT or SCVT. Candidates holding an NCVT trade certificate in the Welder trade are also eligible to apply. Applicants must be between 18 and 27 years of age as of August 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories in accordance with the rules.

**Selection Based on Merit**
Candidates will be selected based on a merit list prepared from the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Individuals who have previously completed an apprenticeship or are currently undergoing one are not eligible for this recruitment. Selected candidates will undergo a one-year training program.
