AMC Vacancy 2026: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has released the notification for the Assistant Fireman recruitment for 2026. **Eligibility Criteria for Application**
For this recruitment, the minimum mandatory qualification is passing the SSC (10th grade) examination from a recognized board. Candidates cannot apply without meeting this requirement. Additionally, candidates possessing qualifications such as HSC (12th grade), ITI, a Diploma or B.E. in Fire/Auto/Mechanical/Electrical engineering, a Firefighting Course, a CCC certificate, or prior volunteer service experience with the AMC will be awarded additional marks.
For this recruitment, the minimum age limit is set at 18 years, and the maximum age limit is 32 years. Candidates belonging to reserved categories—such as SC, ST, SEBC, and EWS—are granted an age relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit. Women are also entitled to a 5-year age relaxation, while candidates with disabilities (PwD) are granted a relaxation of 10 years.
**Application Fee**
While filling out the AMC Assistant Fireman application form, candidates are required to pay an application fee based on their category; this fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. The application fee is set at ₹500 for candidates belonging to the Unreserved (General) category, while it is ₹250 for candidates in the SC, ST, SEBC, and EWS categories. Physically challenged (PwD) candidates are completely exempted from paying the application fee—meaning they are not required to pay any amount.
**Selection Process**
The selection of candidates for this recruitment will be conducted through a multi-stage process. First, a Physical Measurement Test will be conducted to assess height, weight, chest measurements, and vision. This will be followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET), which includes events such as the long jump, high jump, 800-meter run, and 200-meter swim.
Subsequently, the candidates' academic qualifications will be evaluated, taking into account their marks obtained in the 10th-grade examination as well as any additional qualifications they possess. In the final stage, document verification and a medical examination will be conducted, following which the final selection of eligible candidates will be made.
