AIIMS NORCET 11 2026: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has commenced the online application process for the Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET-11). This recruitment drive aims to fill Nursing Officer (Group-B) posts at AIIMS New Delhi, as well as at various other AIIMS institutes and participating organizations across the country. How many posts are being filled?
A total of 2,218 temporary vacancies have been announced under this recruitment drive. Selected candidates will be appointed to positions at AIIMS New Delhi, as well as at various other AIIMS institutes and organizations such as JIPMER, ESIC, NITRD, and AIIMS-CAPFIMS.

According to AIIMS, 80% of the posts in the participating institutes will be reserved for women, and 20% will be reserved for men.

Who can apply?

Candidates must possess one of the following qualifications from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) or a State Nursing Council:

B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing / B.Sc. Nursing
Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing
Registration as a Nurse and Midwife with the State or Indian Nursing Council

GNM diploma holders may also apply, provided:

They are registered as a Nurse and Midwife.
They have at least 2 years of experience in a hospital with 50 or more beds.

Age Limit
Minimum age: 18 years
Maximum age: 30 years

Age will be calculated as of August 13, 2026. Reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per Central Government rules.

What is the salary?
Selected candidates will be appointed at Pay Matrix Level-7. This is a Group-B post. It carries a pay scale of ₹9,300–34,800 (equivalent to the pre-revised pay scale with a Grade Pay of ₹4,600) as per the 7th Pay Commission, along with other allowances in accordance with Central Government rules.

What is the selection process?
The recruitment process will be conducted in two stages.

Stage-1: NORCET Preliminary Examination

Mode of examination: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
Total questions: 100
Duration: 90 minutes
20 questions on General Knowledge and Aptitude
80 questions on Nursing subjects
Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer

Stage-2: NORCET Main Examination

Total questions: 160
Duration: 180 minutes
All questions will be based on Nursing subjects and case-based scenarios.
Negative marking: 1/3 mark for each incorrect answer

The final merit list will be prepared based solely on the marks obtained in the Main Examination (Stage-II).
