Ever since the implementation of the Agnipath scheme in the Indian Army, there has been a constant discussion about the future and career of Agniveers. When these youth return from the army after completing four years of service, how many employment and new opportunities will be available to them, this has been the biggest question.
Now the Uttarakhand government has taken a big step in this direction and announced to give 10 percent horizontal reservation in government jobs to retired Agniveers.
According to the order issued by the Uttarakhand government, former Agniveers will get 10 percent reservation in all uniformed services of Home Department, Forest Department, Excise Department, Transport Department and Secretariat Administration Department.
Not only this, they will also be exempted from the physical efficiency test in the direct recruitment process. Also, they will get relaxation in the maximum age limit for the number of years they have served in the army. Let us know what is the arrangement for Agniveers in other states apart from Uttarakhand.
The Haryana government has also made special arrangements for Agniveers. They will get one percent horizontal reservation in second class jobs in the state. In third class jobs, except for some categories, five percent reservation has been fixed. Apart from this, 20 percent posts in police constable recruitment and 10 percent posts in forest guard recruitment have been reserved for former Agniveers.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also taken concrete steps for Agniveers. Yogi Adityanath's government has announced 20 percent reservation in police recruitment. This reservation will be applicable to posts like constable PAC horse rider and fireman. Along with this, Agniveers will also be given a relaxation of three years in the maximum age limit. That is, after service, they will be able to get admission in police and security related jobs without any major difficulty.
According to media reports, Agniveers will be given reservation in state police recruitments in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Gujarat.
