Agniveer Reservation: Since the announcement of the recruitment of Agniveers in the army, many state governments have been promising to give them reservations in government jobs from time to time. But Haryana has become the first state to implement the policy of giving reservations to Agniveers in government and private jobs. Under the Haryana Agniveer Policy 2024, Agniveers will be given facilities like reservations in government and private jobs and cheap and easy loans for self-employment. They will also be exempted from the Common Eligibility Test (CET) for recruitment to government posts.

The Haryana government has implemented the Haryana Agniveer Policy 2024 and issued its notification. This has been confirmed by the state's Soldier and Paramilitary Welfare Minister Rao Narbir Singh. He said that Haryana is the first state to provide security cover to Agniveers. He said that the first batch of Agniveers will retire in July 2026. But the state government has already given them security cover.

There are 4045 jawans from Haryana in the first batch of Agniveers retiring in July 2026. Even before this, the state government has given them employment guarantee. Along with giving jobs to the Agniveers, the government will provide full help in their skill development and self-employment.

Agniveer Recruitment Scheme was started in 2022

The central government announced the recruitment scheme of Agniveers under the Agneepath Scheme on 15 July 2022. Under this, 25 percent of the soldiers recruited as Agniveers will be regularly recruited in the army. The remaining 75 percent of Agniveers will be retired. In the year 2022-23, 1830 jawans from Haryana, and in 2023-24, about 2215 jawans were recruited as Agniveers in the three armies.

Mathematics of reservation to Agniveers

According to Haryana Agniveer Policy 2024, Agniveers will be given 10 percent horizontal reservation in recruitment to police, mining guards, jail warden, and SPO posts. Apart from this, a 5 percent reservation will be given for direct recruitment of Group C.

5 years relaxation in age limit

Agniveers of the first batch will be given a year's relaxation in age limit in recruitment. Apart from this, they will also get an exemption from the CET exam. Not only this, they will also be provided a loan of up to Rs 5 lakh for self-employment.

Reservation to Agniveers in the private sector

Agniveers will also get preference in recruitments done through Haryana Kaushal Rojgar Nigam Limited. Apart from this, the government will also give an annual subsidy of Rs 60 thousand to those industries which will give jobs to Agniveers on a monthly salary of more than Rs 30 thousand per month. Agniveers who want to serve as private security guards will be given priority in giving gun licenses.

Dedicated unit to be formed in every department

According to reports, the Haryana government is going to form a dedicated unit in every department. Its job will be to see in which department and unit Agniveers can be accommodated. For this, the qualifications of Agniveers who have completed their service will be assessed.
