The Indian Army has extended the application deadline for the Agniveer recruitment 2026. What are the Eligibility Criteria?
Educational Qualification: Eligibility criteria vary depending on the specific post. However, meeting the prescribed physical and medical standards is mandatory for all positions. For the Agniveer General Duty post, the minimum educational qualification required is a 10th-grade pass with a minimum aggregate score of 45%. Conversely, for Agniveer Technical, candidates must have passed the 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; whereas for Agniveer Clerk/SKT, a 12th-grade pass in any stream is required, provided the candidate has secured an aggregate score of 60%. Additionally, for the Agniveer Tradesman posts, an 8th-grade or 10th-grade pass is the mandatory qualification.
Age Limit: Candidates applying for these posts must be between 17.5 and 21 years of age as of January 1, 2026. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with government regulations.
What is the Application Fee?
While submitting their applications, candidates are required to attach scanned copies of essential documents, such as their photograph, signature, and identity proof. Candidates who qualify in the written examination will undergo the physical test; subsequently, candidates who qualify in the PET/PMT will appear for the Trade Test. Finally, the selection process will conclude following the Document Verification and Medical Test.
In How Many Categories Can a Candidate Apply?
In the Agniveer recruitment process, candidates may apply—based on their eligibility—under the Regular Entry category as well as two additional categories. If a candidate wishes to opt for more than one category, they must fill out a separate application form for each specific category. Furthermore, they are required to appear for the Common Entrance Examination associated with each category for which they have applied. However, a candidate is required to attend only one recruitment rally, where they will undergo the Physical Fitness Test and Medical Test accordingly.
