Agniveer Bharti: Agniveers will get 20% reservation in Delhi Police, exemption from physical test, relaxation in age limit...
Agniveer Recruitment: Good news for former Agniveers of the Indian Army. They will receive a 20 percent reservation in the Delhi Police, along with exemption from the physical test and relaxation in the age limit. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved an amendment to Rule 9 of the Delhi Police (Recruitment and Recruitment) Rules, 1980. Under this amendment, special provisions will be made for former Agniveers in the recruitment of male constables (executive) in the Delhi Police.
According to the amended rules, 20 percent of the total male constable (executive) posts in the Delhi Police have been reserved for former Agniveers. This decision will make it easier for those who have completed four years of service as Agniveers in the Army to join the police force.
Age Relaxation and Physical Test Relaxation
Following the amendment to the Delhi Police recruitment rules, former Agniveers will receive a three-year relaxation in the upper age limit. They will also be exempted from the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). This means they won't have to pass a physical test like running.
5-Year Relaxation for First Batch Candidates
More relaxation has been announced for the first batch of candidates under the Agniveer Scheme. They will be granted a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit (25 years).
How many constable vacancies are there in the Delhi Police?
Currently, the Delhi Police has 42,451 sanctioned posts for male constables (executive). These posts are filled through the direct recruitment process, with the age limit varying from 18 to 25 years.
Reservation for Agniveers is also available in these states.
Delhi is not the only state to offer reservations to Agniveers in police recruitment. Other states, including Uttar Pradesh, have previously announced this.
