The Indian Army has taken an important step to increase transparency and fairness in the Agniveer recruitment process. Now eye scanning (iris scan) will be used to ensure the identity of the candidates. This new system will be implemented from the Agniveer recruitment to be held in August at Chakkar Maidan in Muzaffarpur, Bihar.

At present, the army prepares the data of the candidates using digital wristbands and biometric systems, which are used for identification during medical examination. However, after physical efficiency, educational and residential examination, and just before the medical test, candidates often tried to commit fraud.

Candidates used to commit fraud in recruitment like this.

According to a military officer, many times a candidate used to join the race for another, and when he was successful, the original candidate used to join during the medical examination. This new iris scanning system is being adopted to prevent such fraud and ensure 100 percent identification of the candidates.

How will the new system work?

Under the new system, after physical efficiency and other preliminary processes, the eyes of all the candidates will be scanned before the medical examination. Their digital data will be prepared from this scan. Apart from this, the data of the candidates will also be prepared from the biometric system as before.

This dual authentication system will help in effectively thwarting the attempts of fake identification. According to the military officer, many types of technical equipment are installed at the recruitment site and the candidates have to go through them. This new step is another important effort towards achieving the goal of 'zero fraud'.

Youth from many districts will be included in the recruitment of Muzaffarnagar
This state-of-the-art identification system will be first implemented in the Agniveer recruitment to be held at Chakkar Maidan in Muzaffarpur. Youth from Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, East and West Champaran districts will be included in this recruitment.

When will the exam be held?
The date of online written examination for Agniveer recruitment has also been announced. The examination will be conducted between June 30 and July 10. Admit cards have been issued for this. Notably, the exams for the Agniveer GD (General Duty) category will be held from June 30 to July 3.
