AFCAT 02/2026 Recruitment: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the notification for AFCAT 02/2026. This presents an excellent opportunity for young aspirants wishing to become officers in the Air Force. What are the Eligibility Criteria?
Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for this Indian Air Force recruitment. For Ground Duty (Technical) posts, it is mandatory for candidates to hold a B.Tech degree. Conversely, for Non-Technical posts, a Graduation degree in any relevant discipline is required.

Regarding the age limit, candidates applying for the Flying Branch must be between 20 and 24 years of age. Meanwhile, for both Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) posts, the prescribed age limit is set between 20 and 26 years.

How will the Selection Process be Conducted?
The selection of candidates for this recruitment takes place in multiple stages. The process begins with a written examination (AFCAT), which features questions covering General Knowledge, English, Mathematics, Reasoning, and Military Aptitude. For Ground Duty (Technical) posts, a valid GATE score is also a mandatory requirement. Additionally, candidates holding an NCC ‘C’ Certificate are granted special concessions for entry into the Flying Branch.

Following this, candidates are required to appear for an Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview, which comprises assessments of mental aptitude, group tasks, and a personal interview. For the Flying Branch, a Pilot Aptitude Test is also conducted. Upon the completion of all these stages, a medical examination is conducted, and the final selection is made based on a merit list.

Application Fee Details
The application fee has been prescribed for different categories of candidates. For the AFCAT entry, candidates are required to pay a fee of ₹550 + GST ​​(which is non-refundable). However, candidates applying through the NCC Special Entry or via a valid GATE score are exempt from paying any application fee. The fee can be paid only through online modes, such as Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.
