UP 69,000 Teacher Recruitment: The Uttar Pradesh government made a significant statement in an affidavit submitted to the Supreme Court today regarding the recruitment of 69,000 teachers. Amidst the reservation dispute surrounding this recruitment drive, the state government clarified that it does not intend to remove any of the 69,867 teachers selected in 2020. Efforts will be made to accommodate eligible candidates from among the objectors by granting them priority in future recruitment drives.

Jobs Will Not Be Lost
In the written response and affidavit filed with the Supreme Court, the Uttar Pradesh government stated that it is prepared to prepare a new merit list—in accordance with the High Court's order—and accommodate new eligible candidates based on it. The most reassuring aspect is that the services of the 67,867 teachers currently employed will remain unaffected by this process.

Will not apply to future recruitments
The government has also clarified that this arrangement applies only to the current recruitment and should not be considered applicable to future recruitments.
