1,688 Railway Jobs for 12th Pass Candidates; RRB NTPC Notification Released
A total of 1,688 undergraduate-level posts under the Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC) will be filled across various railway zones. The application process for these posts begins on October 15, and candidates can submit their forms until 11:59 PM on November 13.
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released a short notification for the NTPC Undergraduate recruitment. This drive aims to fill 1,688 undergraduate-level NTPC posts across different zones. Applications open on October 15, and the deadline for submission is 11:59 PM on November 13. This recruitment is being conducted under CEN 07/2024. A detailed notification regarding this recruitment will be released by the Railways on October 14.
Posts to be Filled
The RRB NTPC Undergraduate recruitment covers four types of posts: 188 Train Clerk posts, 700 Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk posts, 200 Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist posts, and 600 Junior Clerk-cum-Typist posts. A total of 1,688 vacancies have been announced. The starting salary for the Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk post is ₹21,700, while the starting salary for Train Clerk, Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist, and Junior Clerk-cum-Typist posts is ₹19,900. Salaries and applicable allowances for these posts will be provided in accordance with the 7th Central Pay Commission.
Eligibility: 12th Pass Candidates Can Apply
Candidates must have passed the 12th standard examination from a recognized board to be eligible for these undergraduate-level posts. For the posts of Accounts Clerk-cum-Typist and Junior Clerk-cum-Typist, proficiency in computer typing (in Hindi or English) is also required. Candidates must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of January 1, 2027. Age relaxation will be provided to candidates from reserved categories in accordance with government regulations.
Application Process Begins on October 15
Candidates can apply online via the official RRB application portal or the respective regional RRB website. To apply, candidates must first complete a new registration. Subsequently, they must log in using their registration number and password to enter personal, educational, and other required details. Photographs, signatures, and necessary certificates must be uploaded as specified in the form. Finally, the application must be submitted after paying the prescribed fee. Candidates are advised to download and retain a copy of the submitted form for their records.
What is the Application Fee?
The application fee for General and OBC candidates is ₹500. A reduced fee of ₹250 applies to candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, Female, PwD, Transgender, Minority, and Economically Backward Class categories. General and OBC candidates who appear for the first stage CBT will receive a refund of ₹400 after the deduction of bank charges. Similarly, candidates belonging to categories with fee concessions will receive a refund of ₹250 upon appearing for CBT-1.
How Will the Selection Process Work?
Candidates for the RRB NTPC UG recruitment will undergo multiple stages of selection. The process begins with CBT-1, followed by CBT-2 for eligible candidates. Those applying for posts requiring typing skills must also take a typing skill test. This will be followed by document verification and a medical examination. CBT-1 will consist of 100 questions, with a duration of 90 minutes. The paper will include 40 questions on General Awareness, 30 on Mathematics, and 30 on General Intelligence and Reasoning. CBT-2 will comprise 120 questions, including 50 on General Awareness, 35 on Mathematics, and 35 on Reasoning. In both examinations, there will be negative marking, with one-third of a mark deducted for each incorrect answer.
