Heatwave continues to wreak havoc, schools closed in these states including UP

The scorching heat and heat wave continue to wreak havoc. Due to this, orders have been issued to close all government and private schools in many states. Also, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heat waves in many parts of the country. Schools have been closed due to heat waves in many states including Uttar Pradesh.

Bihar:

Due to the strong heatwave and severe heat, the Bihar Education Department has decided to keep all government and private institutions closed till June 8. This decision was taken after a discussion between the Chief Secretary and the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department. After the meeting, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed all district officials to issue a notification to suspend all educational activities for the time being.

Rajasthan :

The Rajasthan Education Department had already announced summer vacations in all schools. Summer vacations have started from May 17 and will continue till June 30. Given the scorching heat, all schools in the state have been instructed not to hold any extra classes.

Madhya Pradesh:

Due to the scorching heat, the Madhya Pradesh Education Department has decided to extend the summer holidays till June 30. Earlier, the Education Department had announced that the summer holidays would start from May 1 and continue till June 15.

Delhi and Uttar Pradesh:

Summer holidays in Uttar Pradesh have started from May 18 and will continue till June 18. Similarly, summer holidays in schools in Delhi have started from May 11 and will continue till June 30. According to media reports, apart from these states, schools have been closed in many other states as well.
