Former IPS of Prayagraj Anish Dayal Singh has been appointed as Deputy National Security Advisor. Singh, who served in IB for about 30 years, has also held important responsibilities in CRPF, ITBP and SSB.
The central government has taken a big step to further strengthen the security system of the country. Former IPS officer Anish Dayal Singh, who hails from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh and was associated with the intelligence service for a long time, has been given the important responsibility of Deputy National Security Advisor (Deputy NSA).
Anish Dayal Singh is a 1988 batch IPS officer and has been associated with the Manipur cadre. He was born in Prayagraj in 1964. Talking about education, after completing his graduation, he fulfilled his dream of becoming an IPS by passing the UPSC Civil Services Examination.
Three decades of intelligence experience
Aneesh Dayal Singh's career has been very brilliant and full of discipline. For about 30 years, he served in the Intelligence Bureau (IB). During this time, he held important positions like Joint Director and Special Director. The responsibility of many important intelligence operations lay on his shoulders, which he carried out with full efficiency and strategy.
Command of ITBP and SSB
In October 2022, he was made the Director General (DG) of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Along with this, he was also given the additional responsibility of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). While holding these posts, he paid special attention to border security and organizational strength of the forces.
Memorable tenure in CRPF
Aneesh Dayal Singh was also the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024. Under his leadership, many important changes took place in Naxal-affected areas. In which FOBs (Forward Operating Bases) were established in Naxal-affected areas. Four new battalions of CRPF were added. The force's battalions were reorganized to increase operational capability.
New role in the country's security
Anish Dayal Singh has now become a part of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval's team. His appointment comes at a time when the country is facing many major challenges regarding internal and external security.
