Additionally, offices under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will operate from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and similar adjustments to working hours will be implemented in Delhi government offices. Which employees will be eligible?
To tackle pollution and protect the public from hazardous air quality, the Delhi government has proposed implementing these rules in both private and public sector offices. The government's plan stipulates that the 50% work-from-home mandate will apply to all offices—government and private alike—and must be adhered to from November 1 to February 28.

However, these rules will not apply to everyone; employees in public health and other emergency service sectors will be exempt. For private sector employees, companies might implement an 'odd-even' style system, allowing staff to alternate between working from home and working from the office on different days.

Restrictions kick in with the implementation of GRAP
As winter sets in, Delhi experiences a rise in toxic air levels. To address this, the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is implemented. As pollution levels escalate, the severity of the measures increases, leading to bans on various construction activities and restrictions on the entry of older diesel vehicles. This year, the government has announced these regulations even before the formal implementation of GRAP. In addition to implementing 'work from home' arrangements, the Delhi government is taking measures such as doubling parking charges, banning construction activities, managing dust, ensuring the scientific disposal of waste, increasing green cover, and enforcing the 'No PUCC, No Fuel' rule.
