NEET UG 2026 Result: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination. Approximately 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam this time, with 11.21 lakh qualifying for admission into medical, dental, AYUSH, and other undergraduate medical courses. Preparations to begin the medical counseling process are now underway following the result announcement. It is worth noting that the exam was conducted on June 21 across 543 centers in 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, in 13 languages. According to the NTA, the results were released on time to ensure the counseling and admission processes could be completed according to the scheduled timeline. Highest number of successful candidates from Uttar Pradesh

According to NTA data, Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of successful candidates, with over 1.70 lakh qualifying in NEET UG 2026. Meanwhile, Lakshadweep had the lowest number of qualifying candidates at 43. The agency stated that candidates from nearly all states and Union Territories across the country succeeded in the exam. However, a detailed state-wise breakdown of the number of qualifying candidates has not been made public.

A total of 11.21 lakh candidates qualified

A total of 11.21 lakh candidates succeeded in the exam this time, with women accounting for more than 58 percent of the total. The qualification percentage for women was slightly higher than that for men. A total of 138 candidates secured 690 or more marks in the exam, while 19 candidates scored above 700. According to the NTA, 1,492 candidates scored 650 or more, 10,160 candidates scored 600 or more, and 90,780 candidates scored 500 or more marks.

Highest number of qualifying candidates from the OBC category

In terms of category-wise results, the highest number of qualifying candidates—5.12 lakh—belong to the OBC-NCL category. Additionally, 2.91 lakh candidates from the General category, 1.59 lakh from SC, 95,026 from General-EWS, 63,716 from ST, 3,666 from PwD-BD, and 303 from PwD qualified.

Exam conducted in 13 languages

NEET-UG was conducted in a total of 13 languages, including Hindi and English. Approximately 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam. Prior to releasing the results, the NTA issued the final answer key and stated that various stages of the evaluation process were completed concurrently this time to ensure greater transparency.
