Four Chief Ministers from a Single University
TMBU's contribution to Bihar's politics is immense. Bhola Paswan Shastri, a student here, became the Chief Minister of Bihar three times. After him, Jagannath Mishra, a student of TNB College and living in the West Block, also took charge of the state. In this series, Bhagwat Jha Azad and Chandrashekhar Singh were also students of TMBU. Both held the post of Chief Minister of Bihar.
Bhola Paswan Shastri
Bhola Paswan Shastri became the Chief Minister of Bihar three times. First from February 1968 to June 1968, then from June 1969 to July 1969, and then from June 1971 to January 1972. However, his tenures were short.
Jagannath Mishra
Jagannath Mishra was sworn in as the 14th Chief Minister of the state. He also held the post of Chief Minister three times. Dr. Mishra first became the Chief Minister of Bihar in 1975. He was given the reins for the second time in 1980 and served as the Chief Minister of Bihar for the last time from 1989 to 1990.
Bhagwat Jha Azad
Bhagwat Jha Azad was sworn in as the 18th Chief Minister of Bihar. He served from February 14, 1988, to March 10, 1989.
Chandrashekhar Singh
In addition to him, Chandrashekhar Singh, also from the same institute, also took charge of the state. He served as the Chief Minister of Bihar from August 14, 1983, to March 12, 1985.
