When will the new date for the Maharashtra TET exam be announced, and will registration need to be done again?
The Maharashtra State Council of Examination has postponed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) that was scheduled for Sunday. The Council cited a paper leak incident reported in Thane as the reason for this decision. Priya Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of the Examination Council, officially confirmed the postponement, stating that a new exam date would be announced soon and that candidates need not worry.
Priya Shinde explained that the TET, organized by the Maharashtra State Council of Examination, Pune, was scheduled to take place on Sunday at 1,728 centers across the state. Approximately 600,125 candidates were expected to appear for the exam. However, following the paper leak incident in Thane, the decision was made to postpone the examination for the time being.
She stated, "We have postponed the TET scheduled for June 28." The exam was to be held at 1,728 centers across the state with over 6 lakh students participating. The next date for the exam will be announced shortly. When asked about the number of people involved in the alleged paper leak or other irregularities, Shinde said that the investigation is ongoing, and it would be inappropriate to conclude at this stage. She added that relevant agencies are investigating the matter, and necessary information will be shared once the investigation is complete.
Reassuring candidates concerned about the postponement, the Deputy Commissioner stated that there is no need to panic. She urged students to continue their preparations and clarified that they would not need to reapply or re-register when the new exam date is announced. "I want to tell all students to continue their studies and not to get anxious," she said.
Candidates will not need to register again when the exam is held; they will be able to appear for the upcoming exam based on their existing registration. The postponement has affected the preparations of lakhs of candidates across the state. All eyes are now on the Maharashtra State Council of Examination for the announcement of the new exam date.
