When will the CBSE Class 10 and 12 date sheets be released? How long is the wait?
Lakhs of students appearing for the CBSE Class 10 and 12 examinations are awaiting the timetable; let us find out when the board intends to release the full date sheet on its official website.
A major update has emerged for students appearing in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and 12 board exams. Lakhs of students and their parents across the country have been waiting for the exam dates for quite some time. According to media reports, CBSE is set to release the complete schedule for both classes on its official website soon. The board is rapidly completing the necessary preparations for the exams, meaning the students' wait could end at any moment.
Final date sheet likely by the end of October
As per CBSE regulations, schools are required to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) before the exam timetable is finalized. The deadline for schools to submit this list without a late fee is October 21, 2026. Subsequently, forms can be submitted with a late fee until October 30. The education department states that the final date sheet will be uploaded to the website immediately after receiving the complete student data from schools—likely in the last week of October or early November.
Main exams to be held in February and March
Based on past CBSE records, the 2027 board examinations will be conducted during February and March. As in previous years, the board may begin exams for major subjects in mid-February. Meanwhile, the crucial practical examinations for students are highly likely to commence in January 2027. For schools that remain closed during the winter season, practical exams will be completed in November and December.
How to download the timetable from the website
Once the board releases the date sheet, students can easily save it for their reference. To do this, first visit the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. Upon reaching the homepage, navigate to the 'Latest Announcements' or 'Examination' section. There, you will find separate links for the Class 10 and Class 12 date sheets. Clicking on the relevant link will open the complete timetable on your screen in PDF format.
Important advice for students
As the exam dates approach, CBSE has clarified certain strict rules for students. A minimum of 75% school attendance is mandatory to appear for the board examinations. Students with attendance below this threshold will not be permitted to take the exams. Additionally, students are advised to keep a close watch on the official CBSE website for the final date sheet.
