A joint operation conducted in Faridabad and Jammu and Kashmir has become a topic of discussion nationwide. Security agencies have jointly uncovered a plot for a major terrorist attack. Seven people have been arrested in this operation, the most shocking of which is Dr. Muzammil Shakeel. According to police, he was associated with Faridabad's Al-Falah University, and 360 kg of ammonium nitrate, an AK-47 rifle, and hundreds of cartridges were recovered from his room. Muzammil, a medical professional, also taught at the university, but has now turned to terrorism.

Investigative agencies suspect that he used his medical knowledge to prepare explosives. The cache of ammunition found with him points to a larger conspiracy. Police say this network isn't limited to Haryana, but has links to Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, and Gujarat. In fact, this week, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested three suspected terrorists, including an MBBS doctor from Hyderabad.

When was the university established?

Now let's talk about the institution most frequently mentioned in this case: Al-Falah University in Faridabad. This university was established in 2014 under a special act of the Haryana Legislative Assembly and received UGC recognition in 2015. Its campus, spread over approximately 70 acres, is located near the Nuh border in Haryana. Students from India and other countries study here. The university also houses a large 650-bed hospital, part of the Al-Falah School of Medical Sciences and Research Center. This is where Muzammil was associated.

Who runs it?

Al-Falah University is run by the Al-Falah Charitable Trust. Along with the university, the trust also runs several other institutions, including the Al-Falah School of Engineering and Technology, the Al-Falah School of Education and Training, the Al-Falah School of Paramedical Sciences, and the Al-Falah School of Commerce and Management. This means the trust has spread its roots in almost every field of education.

Courses Offered

The university offers various courses, including diploma, graduation, post-graduation, and PhD. Its medical college is also quite renowned, with approximately 200 MBBS seats and 38 MD seats. The total MBBS fees here are approximately ₹80 lakh. This means that Al-Falah University is considered one of the leading private medical institutions in the country.
