Why was the WBJEE 2025 result postponed?

This result has already been delayed by more than a month. This delay is mainly due to legal disputes. However, the Supreme Court recently stayed an old decision of the Calcutta High Court, which cleared the way for the release of the result to some extent.

Despite this, a new contempt case has now come to light, which has again halted the process. According to reports, the Calcutta High Court has initiated a suo motu case alleging that the board did not comply with the judicial order of May 21. Until the division bench decides on this, the result cannot be declared, nor can the counseling start.

What did the board say earlier?

WBJEEB Chairperson Sonali Chakraborty Banerjee had earlier informed that the results would come on August 7. She had said that the candidates will have to upload the information related to their caste certificate on the portal between July 31 and August 2. Only after this will the board prepare the final result.

Exam and subsequent process
The WBJEE 2025 exam was conducted in two sessions on 27 April. After this, the board released the provisional answer key and also sought objections from the candidates.
