UPTET Exam 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 is set to begin tomorrow. Candidates appearing for the exam must adhere to certain guidelines to avoid any inconvenience. Candidates are required to reach the exam center ahead of schedule, as entry gates will close 45 minutes before the exam starts; no candidate will be allowed entry after this time.
**Exam Schedule**
The UPTET 2026 will be conducted in two shifts from July 2 to July 4. Paper-2 will be held on July 2 and 3, while Paper-1 will take place on July 3 and 4. The exam will be conducted in offline mode. The first shift will run from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM.
The entry gate for the first shift will close at 8:45 AM, and for the second shift, it will close at 1:45 PM. No candidate will be permitted to enter the exam center after these times.
**Exam to be held at 955 centers across 60 districts**
UPTET 2026 will be conducted across a total of 5 shifts at 955 exam centers established in 60 districts of the state.
A total of 1,994,661 candidates will appear for the exam. Of these, 1,767,180 candidates are from Uttar Pradesh, while 227,481 are from other states.
The exam will see the participation of 185,791 in-service teachers and 1,808,870 new candidates.
Applications have been received from 388,179 candidates for the Primary Level (Paper-1), 816,436 for the Upper Primary Level (Paper-2), and 395,023 for both levels. Districts with the highest number of exam centers and candidates include Varanasi, Prayagraj, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Kanpur Nagar, Meerut, Mau, Moradabad, Agra, and Jaunpur.
What documents are required at the exam center?
To appear for the UPTET 2026 exam, candidates must possess a printed copy of the 2026 admit card. Additionally, they must carry an original photo identity proof, a photocopy of the same, and three recent passport-sized photographs. Valid identity proofs include an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, driving license, or other government-issued photo ID cards. However, candidates whose admit cards bear the remark "e-KYC Required at Exam Center" must carry their original Aadhaar card for verification purposes. Candidates may face difficulties at the exam center if they lack the necessary documents.

Carry a printed copy of the admit card.
Keep an Aadhaar card, Voter ID, PAN card, driving license, or other valid photo ID proof with you.
Also, carry a photocopy of the identity proof and passport-sized photographs.
Use only a blue or black ballpoint pen.
Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, Bluetooth devices, earphones, and other electronic items are not permitted inside the exam center.
Notes, books, papers, bags, or other prohibited materials cannot be taken into the examination hall.
Candidates are advised to wear simple, comfortable clothing and avoid wearing heavy jewelry.
No candidate will be allowed to enter the exam center after the gates are closed.
