UPTET Exam 2026: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 (UPTET 2026) is set to begin tomorrow, i.e., Thursday. Along with releasing the admit cards for candidates appearing in the exam, the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has issued important guidelines. The Commission has clarified that arriving at the exam center before the scheduled time is mandatory; entry gates will close 45 minutes before the exam begins, and no candidate will be allowed entry after that.

Note the exam schedule in advance

The UPTET 2026 will be conducted in two shifts from July 2 to July 4. Paper 2 will be held on July 2 and 3, while Paper 1 will take place on July 3 and 4; the exam will be conducted offline. The first shift will run from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. According to the Commission, the exam center gates will close at 8:45 AM for the first shift and at 1:45 PM for the second shift. Candidates are advised to try and reach the exam center at least one hour in advance to avoid last-minute hassles.

Must carry these documents to the exam center

To appear for the exam, candidates must possess an updated, printed admit card for 2026. Additionally, they must carry an original photo identity proof, a photocopy of the same, and three recent passport-sized photographs. Valid identity proofs include the Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, driving license, or other government-issued photo identity cards. Candidates whose admit cards bear the remark "e-KYC required at exam center" must carry their original Aadhaar card for verification purposes.

What can and cannot be taken into the exam center?

The Commission permits only essential items inside the exam center. Candidates may carry a printed admit card, an original photo identity card, three passport-sized photographs, a black ballpoint pen, a plain clipboard or hardboard (without any writing on it), and a transparent water bottle. Conversely, items such as mobile phones, smartwatches, wristwatches, Bluetooth devices, earphones, calculators, tablets, laptops, pen drives, hard disks, ATM cards, notes, books, electronic gadgets, or any metal-based electronic devices are strictly prohibited inside the exam center. The Commission has warned that possession of any prohibited item could lead to the cancellation of the candidate's examination and further disciplinary action.
