The wait is over for candidates appearing in the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026. The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission has released the admit cards on the official website, upessc.up.gov.in. Candidates can download their admit cards using their registration details. This year, the exam will be held between July 2 and July 4 across 60 districts of the state, with approximately 20 lakh candidates participating. The Commission has implemented several strict rules to ensure the examination is transparent and free from malpractice. Candidates are advised to read all instructions carefully before heading to the exam center.
**Exam to be held from July 2 to July 4**
This year, UPTET will be conducted on July 2, 3, and 4. A total of 955 exam centers have been set up across 60 districts of the state. Approximately 19.94 lakh candidates will appear for the exam. The primary and upper primary level exams will be conducted in two shifts on different days.
**Important rules to follow**
Only black ink ballpoint pens and blank clipboards or hardboards will be permitted at the exam center. Mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, calculators, pen drives, earphones, ATM cards, and any other electronic devices are strictly prohibited.
The use of whitener, blades, or erasers on the OMR sheet is not allowed. Answer sheets will not be evaluated if incorrect information is filled in or if the question booklet serial number is recorded incorrectly. Marking more than one circle for a single question will result in the answer being considered incorrect.
**Security arrangements and exam pattern**
Biometric verification (iris scan and photograph) of candidates will be conducted at the exam centers. Question papers will be secured with one-time locks and seals, which will be opened 45 minutes before the exam begins. The exam will be conducted offline using OMR sheets. It will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be answered within 150 minutes. There will be no negative marking in the exam. The minimum qualifying marks have been set at 90 for the general category and 82 for the reserved category. The UPTET certificates of successful candidates will remain valid for a lifetime.
