UPTET 2026 Result: 62,000 teachers unsuccessful in UPTET exam; will failing cost them their jobs? Check important updates here..

The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) released the results for the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2026 on August 26. The commission conducted the UPTET 2026 examination across 955 centers in 60 districts of Uttar Pradesh. According to the commission, 1,994,661 candidates had registered for the exam, which was held on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026.

Candidates who appeared for the exam can download their UPTET Scorecard 2026 from the commission's official website. Notably, existing teachers also participated in this examination; reports indicate that 62,000 teachers were declared unsuccessful.

**Number of Existing Teachers Who Passed**
Out of the 122,405 teachers who appeared for the UPTET Primary Level exam, 93,387 passed, resulting in a pass percentage of 79.29% at the primary level. Additionally, at the Upper Primary Level, 113,384 out of 146,394 teachers passed, yielding a pass percentage of 77.45%.

**62,000 Teachers Failed**
Existing teachers participated in this UPTET exam as well, as court orders have made it mandatory for them to pass the test. Consequently, approximately 62,000 teachers failed this time. Teachers currently employed in schools who failed the exam might be concerned about losing their jobs. However, the commission will provide them with another opportunity; they can retake the TET exam to improve their performance, and they will not be removed from their jobs. Nevertheless, it remains mandatory for teachers to pass the TET exam by the year 2028.
