According to the exam calendar released by the commission, the Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) will be held in July 2026. The UPTET exam will be conducted on July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2026.
When can UPTET applications begin?
The online application process for UPTET July 2026 may begin in the third or fourth week of April. This is because the commission usually gives candidates two months to apply before the UPTET exam. Why was the UPTET exam not held for 4 years?
The last UP Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) exam was held on January 23, 2022. After that, this exam was supposed to be held in 2025, but it kept getting postponed due to various reasons. These included the formation of a new examination board and administrative changes. Previously, the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) was conducting the UPTET, but now it is being conducted by the UP Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC). UP Assistant Professor New Exam Dates
The decision has been made to conduct the Assistant Professor recruitment examination on April 18 and 19, 2026. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had canceled the Assistant Professor recruitment examination under advertisement number 51 on January 7 due to irregularities. More than 82,000 candidates had applied for this recruitment, and they were waiting for the new exam dates after the cancellation of the previous exam. A total of 910 posts will be filled through this recruitment.
UP TGT-PGT Recruitment Exam in May-June
The commission has also released the dates for the PGT (Advertisement No. 02/2022) and TGT (Advertisement No. 01/2022) recruitment examinations. The Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) examination will be held on May 9 and 10, while the Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) examination will be held on June 3 and 4. The commission has clarified that all examinations will be conducted with complete security, transparency, and integrity. Strict monitoring, jammer systems, CCTV cameras, and other security measures will be implemented at the examination centers.
