A total of 1,251 posts will be filled through this recruitment drive. Of these, 1,248 posts are for the general recruitment of Livestock Extension Officers, while 3 posts fall under the special selection category. Among the general recruitment posts, the allocation is as follows: 500 for General, 254 for SC, 25 for ST, 345 for OBC, and 144 for the Economically Weaker Section (EWS). These posts carry a Level 5 pay scale, with a salary range of ₹29,200 (minimum) to ₹92,300 (maximum).
PET 2025 Required for Recruitment
Only those candidates who have appeared for the UPSSSC Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 are eligible to apply for this recruitment. They must possess a valid PET scorecard issued by the Commission. Candidates will be shortlisted for the main examination based on this score.
Eligibility Criteria
For the post of Livestock Extension Officer, candidates must have passed the Class 12 examination with the Biology stream. Additionally, they must hold a 2-year Livestock Extension Diploma from a veterinary university or veterinary college established by law. Proficiency in Hindi (Devanagari script) is also mandatory. Regarding the age limit, candidates must be between 21 and 40 years of age as of July 1st. Age relaxation will be provided to reserved categories in accordance with the rules.
Application Fee and Main Examination
The application fee for this recruitment has been kept quite low. Candidates across all categories—including General, OBC, SC, and ST—are required to pay an online fee of ₹25 at the time of application. Furthermore, no separate examination fee will be charged to candidates shortlisted for the main examination. Candidates shortlisted based on their PET scores will be required to appear for the main examination. According to the details available, the main examination will consist of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions; the duration of the exam will be two hours, and each question will carry one mark. A negative marking of one-fourth of a mark will apply for incorrect answers.
