UPSSSC PET 2026 Schedule Released; Exam to Begin on October 23

The UPSSSC has announced the exam dates for PET 2026. The UPSSSC PET 2026 will be conducted on October 23, 24, and 25, 2026. The examination will span three days, with candidates appearing in two shifts each day.

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has announced the dates for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026. According to the Commission’s schedule, the UPSSSC PET 2026 will be held on October 23, 24, and 25, 2026. The exam will take place over three days, with candidates taking the test in two shifts daily. Candidates who have applied for PET 2026 should now focus on their exam preparation. Information regarding the exam date, shift, and center will be provided to candidates via their admit cards; however, the Commission has not yet announced the date for the release of the admit cards.

PET 2026 Exam to be Held in Two Shifts

The UPSSSC PET 2026 exam will be conducted over three days. The first shift will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second shift will run from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The duration of the exam in both shifts will be two hours. Details regarding the assigned date, shift, and exam center will be provided in the candidates’ hall tickets. The admit card will also contain the reporting time and essential instructions regarding the exam center.

When Will the Admit Card Be Released?

The UPSSSC has not yet announced the release date for the PET 2026 admit cards. The hall tickets will be made available prior to the exam. Candidates are advised to keep a close watch on the Commission’s official website and notice board. Once the admit cards are released, candidates will be able to view the PET admit card notification in the notice board section of the website. The hall ticket can be downloaded after entering the login details. After downloading it, candidates must verify details such as their name, exam date, shift, and center information.

100-Question, 100-Mark Paper

A total of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) will be asked in the UPSSSC PET 2026, and the paper will carry 100 marks. The exam will cover subjects such as Indian History, the Indian National Movement, Geography, the Indian Economy, the Indian Constitution and Public Administration, General Science, Elementary Arithmetic, General Hindi, General English, Reasoning, and General Awareness. There will also be negative marking; one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Consequently, candidates should avoid guessing while answering questions.

Candidates Who Have Passed Class 10 Can Take the Exam

Candidates who have passed the Class 10 examination from a recognized board are eligible for PET 2026. Additionally, candidates possessing higher qualifications from a recognized university may also apply. Regarding age, candidates must be between 18 and 40 years old as of July 1, 2026. Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be granted age relaxation in accordance with the Commission’s rules.

Application Process Concluded on September 7

The online application process for UPSSSC PET 2026 began on August 3, 2026. The deadline for submitting applications was set for September 7, 2026. The last date to pay the exam fee was also September 7, while a window until September 8 was provided for making corrections to the application. The application fee was set at ₹185 for General and OBC categories, ₹95 for SC and ST categories, and ₹25 for differently-abled candidates.
