UPSSSC Lower PCS Exam Pattern 2026: What to Expect?
In the UPSSSC Lower PCS recruitment, candidates who appeared for the PET-2025 examination will be granted the opportunity to sit for the Main Examination. Consequently, graduate students possessing a valid PET scorecard will be eligible to apply for this recruitment. The written examination will consist of a single question paper comprising a total of 100 questions. The duration of the examination will be two hours, during which all questions will be of an objective and multiple-choice nature. Part-1 | 1. History of India & Indian National Movement: Knowledge regarding the social, cultural, economic, and political aspects within the scope of Indian History. Indian National Movement: Substantive knowledge concerning the freedom struggle, the rise of nationalism, and the attainment of independence.

| 2. Indian Polity & Indian Constitution: Knowledge of the political system, including constitutional development in India, the Indian Constitution, the Indian political system and governance, Panchayati Raj and Local Self-Government, Public Policy and Rights Issues, and Community Development.

Geography of India & the World: Within the scope of Indian Geography—information related to the country's physical, social, and economic geography; agriculture, horticulture, forestry, and animal husbandry; population and urbanization patterns; and Smart Cities and Smart Villages. Awareness regarding space technology, defense technology, energy sources, nanotechnology, microbiology, and biotechnology. Issues related to Intellectual Property Rights and Digital Rights.

7.    Environment, Ecology, and Disaster Management—General awareness regarding environmental protection and ecosystems, wildlife conservation, biodiversity, environmental pollution and degradation, environmental impact assessment, and general issues related to climate change. Disasters in India: disaster mitigation and disaster management as a challenge to non-traditional security and safety. The Disaster Management Act, 2005; National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA); State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA); National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF); and various institutions working in the field of disaster management in India. Global efforts and achievements in the field of disaster mitigation and disaster management.

9.    **General Hindi** – Questions related to letters addressed to relevant parties for resolving administrative, semi-administrative, personal, and professional issues; office orders; notifications; and circulars. **Phonetics and Sounds:** Pronunciation, writing, vowels, consonants, identification and usage of vowel markers (*matras*), and classification of sounds. **Word Formation:** *Sandhi* (conjunction) and *Sandhi-Vicched* (disjunction), *Samas* (compounds), prefixes, and suffixes. **Word Types:** (a) *Tatsam*, *Ardhatatsam*, *Tadbhav*, *Deshaj* (indigenous), and *Videshi* (foreign) words. (b) Nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, and indeclinables (*Avyay*—adverbs, prepositions/postpositions, interjections, particles). **Vocabulary:** Synonyms, antonyms, semantic distinctions between word pairs, single-word substitutes for phrases, homophones/homonyms, cognates, appropriate word selection, and relational terminology. **Word Purity/Correctness.** **Grammatical Categories:** Postpositions (*Paribhasha*), gender, number, person, tense, mood, aspect, voice. **Sentence Structure:** Types (simple, compound, complex), sentence correction, and usage of punctuation marks. **Idioms and Proverbs.**
