The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 1,784 positions. Based on the PET 2025 (Preliminary Eligibility Test) results, candidates can submit their applications from November 10 to December 1. The selection process will include a 100-mark written examination, which will feature negative marking.

This comes as excellent news for the millions of young people in Uttar Pradesh preparing for government jobs. The UPSSSC has released an official notification for the direct recruitment of 1,784 posts under the 'Combined Lower Subordinate' category. According to the Commission, this recruitment drive aims to fill vacancies across various state government departments. For eligible candidates who have long awaited government job opportunities, this represents a golden chance to build their careers.

Applications Begin November 10 – Key Schedule Details

According to the official examination schedule released by the Commission, the online application process for these posts will commence on November 10, 2026. Interested and eligible candidates are required to submit their applications online by December 1, 2026.

Furthermore, the Commission has clarified that applicants will have until December 8, 2026, to settle any outstanding application fees. Additionally, if any errors were made during the initial application process, candidates will be able to make necessary corrections online. Candidates are advised to complete their applications well in advance rather than waiting until the final deadline.

Opportunities Across Various Roles, Including Village Development Officer and Storekeeper

According to UPSSSC Secretary Harikesh Chaurasia, this 'Combined Lower Subordinate' recruitment drive encompasses key positions across several different departments. The drive will primarily facilitate appointments for roles such as Commercial Tax Amin (Tax Collector), Village Development Officer, Village Panchayat Officer, Social Welfare Supervisor, Storekeeper, and various other categories. The required educational qualifications and other detailed guidelines for all these positions have been made available on the Commission's official website; candidates are advised to read them carefully before filling out the application form.

Shortlisting based on PET 2025 scores

The Commission has made the PET (Preliminary Eligibility Test) mandatory for participation in this recruitment process. The Secretary has clarified that the shortlisting of candidates for this 'Combined Lower Subordinate Main Examination' will be based solely on their PET 2025 scorecards. Only those candidates who appeared for the PET 2025 and possess a valid scorecard issued by the Commission will be eligible to apply for this main examination. Candidates who scored zero or less will not be permitted to appear for the main examination.

Written examination pattern and an application fee of only ₹25

The Commission has also provided full clarity regarding the examination pattern. A written examination totaling 100 marks will be conducted for this recruitment, for which candidates will be allotted 2 hours. To ensure accuracy, a negative marking system will be in place—meaning marks will be deducted for incorrect answers.

The application process for this examination has been kept simple and affordable. An online application fee of just ₹25 has been set for candidates of all categories, which can be paid through online modes.
