The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has taken a new and commendable initiative for lakhs of promising youth of the country. The name of this scheme is 'Pratibhaa Setu', which opens a new way for those candidates who could not get into the final merit list despite passing all the stages of the difficult examinations of UPSC.
What is 'Pratibhaa Setu' scheme?
This scheme was earlier known as Public Disclosure Scheme (PDS). Now it has been given a new name and new identity - 'Pratibhaa Setu'. Its purpose is to give information about such eligible candidates to the government and private companies who passed everything till the interview, but could not get into the final selection.
Out of merit, but not less in talent
UPSC says that this scheme is the 'second entrance' for those candidates who missed the final selection despite performing well in the examination. The commission clarified that such youth are also as talented as the selected candidates, just luck did not favor them a bit.
Now this scheme also allows private companies to login to the UPSC portal and access the data of these promising youth and give them opportunities in their companies.
Data bank of more than 10 thousand candidates prepared
Under this scheme, profiles of more than 10,000 candidates have been prepared so far. This data bank also includes the educational qualification, experience and contact details of the youth. This information will help companies to find better talent.
