**UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination to be Held on May 24**
The Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2026 will be conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Sunday, May 24. This examination ranks among the country's most prestigious competitive exams, serving as the gateway for selecting candidates for various top-tier services, including the IAS, IPS, and IFS. As in previous years, a large number of candidates are expected to appear for the examination this time as well. The UPSC Prelims examination will be conducted in two separate shifts. The first paper—General Studies (GS)—will be held from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Following this, the second paper—CSAT—will be conducted from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Candidates have been advised to reach their respective exam centers well in advance of the scheduled start time. This is precisely why Delhi Metro has decided to commence its services earlier than usual.
**Which Metro Lines Have Revised Timings?**
According to the DMRC, metro services on Line-7, Line-8, and Line-9 will begin at 6:00 AM on Sunday. These lines cover the following routes: the Pink Line (Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar), the Magenta Line (Krishna Park Extension to Botanical Garden), and the Grey Line (Dhansa Bus Stand to Dwarka). Typically, on Sundays, Metro services on these lines commence at 7:00 AM; however, in view of the UPSC examination, operations will begin one hour earlier.
**Trains Available Every 15 Minutes Until 7:00 AM**
Delhi Metro has announced that between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM, trains will be available on these lines at intervals of every 15 minutes. Subsequently, Metro services will operate according to the standard Sunday timetable. The DMRC states that this special arrangement has been made exclusively for the convenience of candidates appearing for the UPSC examination, to assist them in reaching their examination centers on time.
**Standard Timetable Applicable on Other Metro Lines**
Delhi Metro has clarified that services on all other lines will continue to run strictly according to the regular Sunday schedule. On all other routes, Metro operations will proceed as usual, commencing from 6:00 AM.
