The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2026. A total of 617 candidates have qualified for admission to the 157th course of the National Defence Academy (NDA)—covering the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings—and the 119th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC).

The merit list has been prepared based on the candidates' performance in the written examination held on April 12, 2026, followed by interviews conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB) under the Ministry of Defence. Candidates who participated in both stages can view the final selection list on the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.

The Commission has released the list of qualified candidates in order of merit. This announcement marks the conclusion of the selection process, which included both a written examination and an interview stage. However, the declaration of these results does not imply unconditional admission for all 617 candidates; their candidature remains provisional and is subject to the fulfillment of prescribed eligibility criteria.

How was the merit list prepared?
The final merit list for the UPSC NDA & NA (I) 2026 was compiled based on the written examination and the subsequent SSB interviews. The written examination took place on April 12, 2026, while the interview process was conducted by the Services Selection Board under the Ministry of Defence. The selection process assesses candidates for admission into the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA, as well as the Naval Academy. The Commission has clarified that the results of the medical examination were not taken into account while preparing this merit list.

Marks to be released after 15 days
Candidates should note that the individual marks obtained by each candidate will not be available immediately upon the announcement of the final results. According to the UPSC, candidates' marks will be uploaded to the official website 15 days after the declaration of the final results. Once available, candidates can view this information by visiting upsc.gov.in. The Commission has also provided a facilitation system for candidates seeking clarification regarding the examination. A facilitation counter for this purpose is available on the UPSC campus and remains open on working days between 10:00 AM and 5:30 PM.
