UPSC: Fewer applications were received than the vacancies, so UPSC took these steps..

UPSC: Fewer applications were received than the vacancies for the recruitments issued by UPSC. The Union Public Service Commission is going to take a new step to increase the number of applications. The commission will now give information about job vacancies directly to universities and colleges through email. The commission says that many times, eligible youth are unable to apply due to a lack of timely information.
UPSC Chairman Dr. Ajay Kumar said, "Apart from our regular examinations, we get many recruitment proposals from ministries and departments. Now we are trying to take these proposals within a time frame of three months between January and March, so that by combining similar types of posts, we can conduct examinations together and the entire process can be completed promptly." UPSC has more than 240 recruitment proposals
Every year, UPSC receives more than 200 recruitment proposals. So far in 2025, more than 240 proposals have come, which include specialist posts like medicine, science, engineering, law, management, finance, accounting, and forensic audit. All these are Group A and Group B gazetted posts. Dr. Kumar said that many times, due to a lack of information about eligible candidates, posts remain vacant or prove to be useless during the interview. To improve this, UPSC is now making arrangements for targeted information.
