The Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 was conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on 25 May at various centers across the country. The exam was conducted in pen-paper mode. The examination was conducted in two shifts. The candidates appearing in the exam are now waiting for the answer key. Let us know where and how the candidates can check the provisional answer key.

According to media reports, the provisional answer key can be released soon. The preliminary examination was conducted in the first shift from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and in the second shift from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Paper I, the General Studies exam was held in the first shift, and Paper II Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) exam was held in the second shift. Successful candidates will appear in the main examination. Candidates will also be given time to register objections on the provisional answer key. The final answer key and results will be declared after the objections received are settled.

UPSC CSE Mains Exam 2025: When will the main exam be held?

The candidates who are successful in the preliminary examination will appear in the main examination. The main exam will be conducted on 22 August. The candidates who pass this will appear in the interview. This time a total of 979 posts are to be recruited through the UPSC Civil Services Examination. The total posts include 180 IAS, 150 IPS, and 55 IFS posts. For more information in this regard, candidates can check the detailed notification issued earlier by UPSC.
