UPSC CSE Exam 2025: What changes has UPSC made in the exam this time? You must know these rules..
The Union Public Service Commission i.e. UPSC has recently released the notification for the Civil Services Examination 2025, under which recruitment will be done for a total of 979 posts. In this too, 38 posts are reserved for Divyang category candidates. It is being said that this is the lowest vacancy in the last 4 years. Well, this time UPSC has not only reduced the number of posts but has also made many changes regarding the examination, which is very important for those who are preparing for UPSC to know about.
This year the commission has made it mandatory to submit documents like educational, caste, and physical disability certificates online while applying for the UPSC Preliminary Examination 2025, whereas earlier the documents were scanned and uploaded by the candidates selected for the UPSC Main Examination.
The certificate will have to be submitted along with the application
The official notification of UPSC states, 'Candidates who wish to apply for the Civil Services Examination will have to apply online and submit the required information and supporting documents for various claims, such as date of birth, category i.e. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD/Ex-Serviceman Certificate, Educational Qualification, and Service Preferences, etc., as may be sought by the Commission along with the online application form'.
If this is done, the candidature will be canceled
The Commission has also said in its official notification that if the applicants fail to submit the required information/documents along with the online application, their candidature will be canceled. UPSC made this change in the rules after the fraud case of probationary IAS officer Pooja Khedkar came to light.
Pooja Khedkar was dismissed from service.
Pooja Khedkar is accused of forging identity documents, providing false information, and falsifying facts to obtain additional attempts in the Civil Services Examination 2022. Khedkar had allegedly submitted a fake Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) certificate to claim reservation, enabling her to appear in the UPSC exam 12 times instead of 9 attempts. However, when the alleged forgery was exposed, the UPSC dismissed Pooja Khedkar from service in September after cancelling her candidature.
