UPSC CSE 2026 Prelims result declared; here’s how to check it on upsconline.nic.in.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results of the Civil Services Preliminary Examination (CSE Prelims) 2026. The wait for the lakhs of candidates who appeared for the exam is now over. Candidates who took the exam can view their results by visiting the official UPSC website, upsconline.nic.in. Those declared successful in the preliminary examination are now eligible to appear for the next stage, the Main Examination (Mains) 2026.

More than 5 lakh candidates appeared for the preliminary examination conducted by the Commission. Of these, 13,343 candidates have been shortlisted for the Main Examination. A list containing the roll numbers of all successful candidates has been uploaded to the website.

**When will the Main Examination be held?**
Candidates who have qualified in the preliminary examination have very little time left for the Main Examination. The Main Examination is scheduled to begin on August 21 and will be conducted over a period of five days.

Visit the official UPSC website, upsconline.nic.in. Click on the 'UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2026' link provided on the home page. A PDF file will open, in which you can search for your roll number.

**Three new exam centers added this year**
In view of the increasing number of candidates, UPSC added three new exam centers this year: Kanpur, Meerut, and Bhubaneswar. With this addition, the total number of exam centers across the country rose from 80 to 83. According to the data, approximately 23,000 candidates opted for these new centers, which helped reduce overcrowding at the existing centers.

**933 vacant posts to be filled**
It is worth noting that a total of 933 vacant posts are to be filled through the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2026. This examination was conducted across the country on May 24, 2026, with approximately 5.49 lakh students participating.
