UPSC CSE 2026 Notification Released: Know the Number of Vacancies and Application Deadline

The Civil Services Examination is considered one of the most prestigious and challenging exams in the country. This notification is considered big news for aspirants across the country, and there is considerable excitement in the education sector.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the Civil Services Examination 2026.  With this, the dream of millions of young people in the country to become IAS, IPS, and IFS officers has formally begun once again. According to the information released by the UPSC, a total of 933 posts will be filled through the Civil Services Examination this time.

UPSC Releases Notification

The application process for UPSC CSE 2026 has started on February 4, 2026, and candidates can apply until 6 PM on February 24, 2026. Interested candidates can apply online by visiting the commission's official website, upsc.gov.in. The commission has advised candidates to carefully read the eligibility criteria, application fee, age limit, and other guidelines before applying.

Of the 933 posts to be filled through this examination, 33 posts are reserved for candidates with disabilities.

These include:

7 posts for visually impaired and low-vision candidates

11 posts for hearing-impaired candidates

8 posts for candidates with locomotor disabilities

7 posts for candidates with multiple disabilities

The commission has also clarified that the final number of vacancies is subject to change, as revisions may be made after receiving the final figures from the Cadre Controlling Authority.
