UPSC CSE Mains 2025: Registration for Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Examination - Mains is starting today. Candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination will have to apply by visiting the official portal of UPSC - upsc.gov.in. The application window will be open from June 16 to June 25, 2025. The commission had released the list of a total of 14161 candidates who passed the preliminary examination, these candidates will have to apply for the main examination.
The UPSC Prelims exam was conducted on 25 May 2025. This exam is the first stage screening process for recruitment to prestigious services like IAS, IPS, and IFS.
The Civil Services Main Exam will be held on this day.
According to the UPSC calendar, the UPSC Civil Services Main Exam is scheduled to be held from 22 August to 26 August 2025. 979 vacancies will be filled in central government services and departments through the UPSC Civil Services 2025 exam. This includes the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS).
Application Fee
All applicants must pay an application fee of Rs 200 to enter the CSE Mains exam. Women, Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates are exempted from fee payment. However, those from reserved categories must submit valid document proof.
Candidates can update their details about the need for a scribe, any assistive device, or question paper in a larger font, if applicable. Candidates who have changed their name or have a different name from their matriculation can submit their gazette notification during this window.
