The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the dates for the Combined Medical Services (CMS) examination. Candidates who have registered to appear for the CMS exam will now be able to take the Combined Medical Services examination very soon. A total of 1,358 candidates will be selected through this recruitment examination. Additionally, the date for the issuance of admit cards for the examination will also be announced shortly.

**When will the Exam be Held?**
The Combined Medical Services examination, conducted by the UPSC, will be held on August 2, 2026, at various examination centers across the country. The written examination will consist of a total of two papers. Both papers will be conducted for 250 marks each. The duration of the examination will be two hours. Candidates selected in this examination will be invited for an interview carrying 100 marks.

**Exam to be Held in Two Shifts**
The CMS examination will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will run from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and the second shift will be conducted from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

**Number of Vacancies**
Under this recruitment drive, a total of 1,358 candidates will be selected. Recruitment will be conducted for a total of 864 posts for Medical Officers, 450 posts for Assistant Divisional Medical Officers, 14 posts for General Duty Medical Officers, and 30 posts for General Duty Medical Officers under the Delhi Municipal Council.

**How ​​to Prepare for the Exam**
Candidates have only two months to prepare for the examination. To perform well in the exam, study regularly. Additionally, solve previous years' question papers and take mock tests on a daily basis. Solving mock tests will help in gaining a better understanding of the examination pattern. Furthermore, dedicate one to two hours daily to revision and make short notes of everything you study during your exam preparation.
