UPSC Exam Calendar 2027: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the detailed schedule for examinations and Recruitment Tests (RTs) for the year 2027. According to the calendar issued by the Commission, the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination—considered the country's most prestigious examination—will be conducted on May 23, 2027 (Sunday), while the Civil Services (Main) Examination will commence on August 20, 2027 (Friday) and is scheduled to span five days.
**Examination Session to Begin in January**
According to the Commission's schedule, the year will kick off on January 10, 2027, with the Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination. This will be followed by the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination, which is scheduled to be held on January 31, 2027. Several Recruitment Tests and Departmental Examinations are proposed for the months of February and March.
As per the calendar, the Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination will be held on September 2, 2026, with the last date for applications set for September 22, 2026. The examination itself will be conducted on January 10, 2027. Meanwhile, the notification for the Engineering Services (Preliminary) Examination will be issued on September 16, 2026, and the deadline for submitting applications will be October 6, 2026. **CISF AC (Exe) LDCE Examination in March**
The Commission has also announced the date for the Assistant Commandant (Executive) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE)-2027 for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). Civil Services Preliminary Examination to be Held in May
The Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2027, and the Indian Forest Service (Preliminary) Examination, 2027, will be conducted on May 23, 2027. The Preliminary Examination for the Indian Forest Service will be conducted through the Civil Services Preliminary Examination. Several Key Examinations in June-July
Following this, in June 2027, the Engineering Services (Main) Examination and the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination (IES/ISS) will be conducted. The Engineering Services (Main) Examination will commence on June 18, 2027, while the IES/ISS Examination will also begin on June 18, 2027, and continue for three days. The notification for this examination will be issued on February 17, 2027, and the deadline for applications has been fixed as March 9, 2027.
The Combined Medical Services Examination, 2027, will be conducted on July 18, 2027. The notification for this will be issued on March 3, 2027, and applications will be accepted until March 23, 2027.
**NDA-II and CDS-II in September**
According to the Commission's schedule, both the NDA & NA Examination (II) and the CDS Examination (II)—2027—will be conducted on September 19, 2027. The notification for these examinations will be issued on May 12, 2027, and the deadline for applications will be June 1, 2027.
**Indian Forest Service Main Examination to be held in November**
The Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, 2027, will commence on November 21, 2027, and will span over seven days. Meanwhile, the SO/Steno (Grade-B/Grade-I) Limited Departmental Competitive Examination (LDCE) will be held on December 18, 2027.
